The Sacrament of Baptism becomes the basis of our Christian life, the gateway to life in the Holy Spirit, and the door which allows us to experience the other sacraments of the church. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons and daughters of God. By being baptized, we become members of the Catholic Church and our parish family.

At the Mass where a child is baptized, parents vow to God and in front of their fellow parishioners to raise their child in the Catholic Faith. What does living the Catholic Faith look like? It's teaching our children to embrace a life of prayer, to participate in weekly Sunday Mass, and to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ into our community through our words and actions. Baptism is the beginning of a life of Sacramental dedication to the Eucharist and in Reconciling ourselves to God through frequent confession. 

Children are normally baptized within a few weeks or months after birth and parents are strongly encouraged to prepare for baptism prior to the birth of the child.

Baptisms are held for registered members of the parish and are scheduled after the parents have attended the Baptism Class. Please contact the Parish office to schedule a day and time for the Classes.  517-663-4735
