Meet Our Staff
Mrs. IvyLynn Olson, Parish Secretary & Tribunal P.A.
My husband Scott and I have 5 amazing children and 1 beautiful granddaughter. I began working in the Parish Office in August of 2010 as the Secretary.
Since then, my duties have grown to include Event Coordinating and Project Management. I am also blessed to help people seeking marriage Nullities through the Diocesan Tribunal.
Outside of the Office, I am very active in the Parish volunteering and serving with various groups and events. I was blessed to serve with my husband for several years as a part of our New Evangelization Commission, St. Peter Parish Council, and as co-chairs of the Annual Parish Festival Committee. I was recently honored to be nominated to the position of Assistant Coordinator for our Knight's Angels ministry. I also teach 7th Grade Religious Ed.
As a convert, I feel the beauty and depth of our Faith profoundly, and I am constantly seeking to grow in my faith and in my service to all whom I encounter.
I am humbled and thankful that God has called me to continue working with our Pastor and Parish leaders to serve St. Peter daily through our people.
"I've never seen God begin a miracle without Him finishing it well!"     ~ Alessandra Manzoni ~
Mrs. Lori Jordan, Bookkeeper
I graduated from Eaton Rapids High School. A few years later, I married David Jordan and moved out of state for 10 years while he served in the United States Army.  We have 4 amazing children that are the apple of my eye.
This past Easter, David and one of our sons, David Jr., joined the Chuch at Easter Vigil. We have been parishioners at St. Peter for almost 2 years now and love the family atmosphere and welcoming people. I enjoy my work as bookkeeper, and look forward to continuing to serve God and St. Peter.
"The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I lack. In green pastures he makes me lie down; to still waters he leads me;
he restores my soul.He guides me along right pathsfor the sake of his name."     ~ Psalm 23:1-3 ~

Mrs. Jessica Schaub, Faith Formation Coordinator

My family moved from Lansing to Leslie in 2014 and joined St. Peter in 2016. At our previous parish, St. Therese of Lisieux, we were active in the music ministry and the Family Life Committee, and I organized the Raising Saints Homeschool Enrichment Day.
I received my B.A. in Elementary Education in 1994 and my Master’s Degree in Education in 2001, both from Grand Valley State University. I taught Language Arts at St. Thomas the Apostle School for 4 years before ‘retiring’ to be a full-time mom.
My husband Bill and I have four children, who have taken me on a homeschooling adventure for the last 13 years.
I have written several Christian Fantasy and Fiction novels, six of which have been published. Thanks to these books, I have been able to travel a few times a year to speak to groups about stories and how to view our life as a story - be it a comedy, a tragedy, or a drama - and to rewrite our ending.
I’m thrilled to be serving the St. Peter Parish as the Faith Formation Coordinator and I look forward to the many adventures in store.

“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending."     ~ C.S. Lewis ~
Mrs. Julie Carpenter, Church Housekeeper

My husband Tom and I have lived in Eaton Rapids for over 39 years, and been members of St. Peter for over 29 of those years.
Our son, Tom Jr. and his beautiful wife Dayna live in Maryland, and we 'adopted' from our St. Peter family our daughter and our 5 wonderful grandchildren.
I have worked here as a housekeeper since 2015, first in the Rectory and now in the Church building. I enjoy being able to donate my skills to keep our facilities beautiful for our worship.
I also believe strongly in volunteer service, and enjoy being an active part of the Knights' Angels, and the Festival Committee and New Evangelization Commission together with Tom.

“As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace."     ~ I Peter 4:10 ~
Mr. Tom Carpenter, Maintenance

My wife Julie and I have lived in Eaton Rapids for over 39 years and attended St. Peter for over 29 of them, except for a couple years when we left in the mid-90’s and attended other area Churches. The Churches and people were nice enough, but they were all missing something - the Eucharist! One Saturday, we returned for Mass and were graciously welcomed back.
We have one son, Tom Jr., who lives near Baltimore with his lovely wife Dayna, and we “adopted” from St. Peter 1 daughter and 6 grandkids.
Julie has taught CCD for over 15 years, is part of our Knights' Angels, and is the Church housekeeper. In past years we enjoyed being a part of many Parish events including the Annual Ox Roast Festival & Carnival Committee, and currently we are both a part of the New Evangelization Committee.
I currently serve on Parish and Finance Councils. I have been a Knight for over 24 years, and was recently honored to be elected to serve as our Council’s Grand Knight from July 2016 to June 2017.
I enjoy serving wherever I am able, and am honored to be a part of the Parish staff.

"We must fix our eyes on Jesus, not on the responsibilities that come with serving Him."     ~ Excerpt from 09/02/2017 One Bread One Body reading
Mr. Jerry Lovejoy, Maintenance

My wife Janice and I have been members of St. Peter 's for the last 15 years!  Before retiring from GM in 2006, I worked as a journeyman in Machine Repair for 42 years.
I have been a member of St. Vincent de Paul since 2010, and have been their President since 2013. I also am a member of the Knight's of Columbus, and have held various minor positions with them for 34 years.
Maintenance is my forte and I really enjoy new challenges each and every day.

“The human heart plans the way, but the Lord directs the steps.”     ~ Proverbs 6:9 ~
Mrs. Laurel LaPorte, Music Ministry

My husband Leo and I have been members of St. Peter for 25 years and have 3 wonderful adult children. Originally from Bedford, Ohi, music has been a large part of my life since childhood.
I received my Bachelor’s in Music Education from Bowling Green State University, and my Master’s in Music Education from Michigan State University.
I served as a music teacher prior to taking the role of Music Ministry Director for St. Peter in 1996.
I believe that worshipful music can take many forms, and strive to assist all in honoring the Lord and experiencing God’s presence and love through the music at our Liturgies.

“Glorify the Lord with me; together let us praise His name!”     ~ Laurel LaPorte ~
Mrs. Renae Davidson, Theos (High School) Youth Ministry Team Leader
Hello!  I have been a member of St.Peter for 50 years, and have been married to Todd Davidson for 24 years. Together, we have 2 adult children, Andrew, and Tori, who previously served as our Parish's Faith Formation Coordinator. I try to live my life by the words of Paul in Philippians 4:13 - we can do all things together through Christ!
I love working with the youth in our Parish because it renews my faith every time we are together.
Please feel free to contact me anytime with questions or just to chat!

“I have the strength for everything through him who empowers me.”     ~ Philippians 4:13 ~
Mr. Scott Olson, Edge (Middle School) Youth Ministry Team Leader
I am married to IvyLynn Olson, our Parish Secretary, and we have five amazing children - two adults, Alexis & Matthew, and three teenagers, Tyller, Riley, & Noah. We also have one beautiful granddaughter with a second granddaughter due next February.
My wife and I are both very active in the Parish and have served together on the Festival Committee for several years. The annual Festival has become somewhat of a passion for both of us and our involvement seems to grow every year.It is also my honor to serve as a Knight of Columbus, as member of both the Parish Council and the New Evangelization Commission, and as a consultant for our Buildings and Grounds Commission.
In October of 2016, after attending the Diocesan Evanglization Conference, I felt God's call to serve as a Youth Minister. With Fr. George's blessing, I accepted the role as a Youth Ministry Team Leader. I am energized by the blessings and challenges involved in helping to feed the hearts and minds of our youth, and am excited to see what God has in store for St. Peter and our wonderful kids.
I enjoy being involved in various aspects of our Church and strive to serve God, our Pastor, and our Parish family faithfully in all of the roles I have been called to serve.
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.” ~ I Peter 4:10 ~
